Designing this book was a very personal and special project. My Fiancée, Maria Pretzl, is a playwright and wrote this play for young audiences about a pig that wants to fly. As a Christmas present for her, I contracted an artist - the very talented Jill Dobel - to create artwork of the characters and then used her artwork along with stock artwork that looked similar to Jill’s style to create this book. I reached out to Maria’s colleagues and mentors and asked if they would be willing to read the play and provide pull quotes for the cover. They all came through!
